Trump Compares Immigrants to Snakes in Dramatic Reading of R&B Song
March 15, 2016 – GOP juggernaut Donald Trump is firing up his base as five states get set to vote, possibly sealing the tycoon’s path to the Republican nomination. In front of a packed airplane hangar outside of Cleveland Ohio, the billionaire likened immigrants and refugees to venomous reptiles as he gave a dramatic reading of Al Wilson’s 1968 R&B song, “The Snake.”
The song tells the tale of a kind woman who cares for an injured snake only to be fatally bitten in return for her generosity. The last line of the song is:
“You knew damn well I was a snake when you took me in.”

Trump’s poetry slam was performed in front of his private plane and received by his supporters with massive cheers. This particular song could be becoming Trump’s “Freebird” as he’s recited it previously at numerous other rallies across the country.
