8th Grader Nails Presidential Candidate Impressions in Graduation Speech
June 17, 2016 – Illinois eighth grader Jack Aiello received a well-deserved standing ovation after his graduation speech during which he impersonated a number of top political personalities. The 14 year-old absolutely nailed pitch perfect impressions of Hillary Clinton, Ted Cruz, Donald Trump, Bernie Sanders and President Barack Obama. He teed up his tour-de force with: “I’ve decided that since we’re in the middle of an election year, that I would do my graduation speech in the style of some of the 2016 presidential candidates.”
The 14-year-old Thomas Middle School student went for eight minutes straight, combing political stump speeches with middle school issues. As Bernie Sanders he said,
“Let me start with the lunches, they are delicious…I do have one improvement for them though, we need to make them free!”
As the video shot by his father John Aiello has now gone viral, school principal Brian Kaye told the Chicago Tribune, “I honestly just feel a lot of pride that his speech became a national story, and is giving people an opportunity to laugh at this difficult time.”
Even one of his targets caught wind of the performance:
Ok, this kid is funny! Nicely done, and congrats on graduating! https://t.co/Al8zWOZd2L
