GMA Host Apologizes For Her Comments About Boys and Dance

August 26th, 2019 – Good Morning America host Lara Spencer has apologized for her remarks about Prince George enjoying ballet lessons. Spencer was widely criticized for her tone and comments during a segment last week, when she reported that Prince George’s school curriculum includes ballet.

“Prince William said, ‘George absolutely loves ballet.’ I have news for you, William. We’ll see how long that lasts,” Spencer, a mother of two, snipped at the time.

In response to the widespread backlash, the GMA host said:

“I screwed up. The comment I made about dance was insensitive, it was stupid, and I am deeply sorry. I have spoken with several members of the dance community over the past few days. I have listened. I have learned about the bravery it takes for a young boy to pursue a career in dance.”
