October 14, 2015 – Donald Trump let everyone know he would be live-tweeting the first Democratic debate, but it was his GOPÂ competitor Governor Mike Huckabee who raised eyebrows with his seemingly racist Twit-snit directed at Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders:

The webs were quick to light up in response to what was seemingly a reference to the long-standing stereotype that Asians, specifically Koreans, eat dogs.

 Ironically, just minutes before the Governor had sent out this message:

This was not Huckabee’s first step into the social media gauntlet. Earlier this year, the governor suggested being transgender is a choice and he wished he could have had the option to shower with the girls in high school. In addition to stirring up racial controversy, Huckabee’s labrador tweet also reminded many that his own son David was fired as a camp counselor after killing a dog, albeit we suspect not for food.

I have long believed that Koreans eat dog.Is that wrong? If not, Huckabee’s comment was ok.

some koreans eat dogs, right? that’s a fact. so how is this offensive???
Because in the context of our culture it is deemed to be offensive and used to connote barbarity and being uncivilized. Besides, the vast majority of Koreans do not eat dog; kind of like the vast majority of Americans do not use guns in mass homicide but we would be offended if another country used this as a way to characterize our citizens.
