April 6, 2017 – Actor and comedian Don Rickles passed away Thursday at his home in Los Angeles at the age of 90. Known ironically as “Mr. Warmth,” Rickles was considered to be the world’s greatest insult comic.
When asked of his politically incorrect ways, Rickles told Larry King in 1993:
“I make fun of the world. And if you know how to handle that and you treat people — and you make fun of yourself, hey, it’s not offensive.”
“I’ve never walked off stage and said, “I shouldn’t have done that.” Because when you do what I do, you’re like a fighter.
You throw the right hand and say, “That’s what got me to this dance.” You can’t have doubt. If you have doubt, there’s no show.”
