You’re In My House

June 24, 2015 – A pro-immigration heckler interrupted President Obama today as he was addressing same-sex marriage in a speech in the East Room of the White House. Obama was having none of it, telling the heckler, who called for a halt to all deportations, to leave.

“Hold on a sec,” Obama said. “OK. You know what. Nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah. No, no, no, no.

“Hey, listen, you’re in my house,” he added, to cheers from the audience.

Here’s the video of the exchange, courtesy of C-Span.

Later Obama quipped”

“As a general rule, I am just fine with a few hecklers but not when I am up in the house. If you are eating the hors d’oeuvres, know what I’m sayin’? And drinking the booze.”

The heckler was later identified as Jennicet Eva Gutiérrez, an undocumented transgender woman who was reportedly protesting the deportation and treatment of transgender detainees. Some are not happy with the President’s handling of the situation.

  1. Lately doesn’t it seem the President is showing his “black” side a little more? I like it! Going all ghetto on her, and singing gospel songs…..WTG Pres!

  2. I don’t think it is funny, but it was called for. There is a time and place for everything, and that was not the time or the place. She actually brought negativity on her cause.
