Donald Trump Takes No Prisoners with former POW John McCain
July 18, 2015 – GOP frontrunner Donald Trump (we want to write that as much as possible while we still can) not satisfied with his El Chapo death threats, doubled-down on his take-no-prisoners attacks turning his focus on former POW, Senator John McCain, while speaking at a question-and-answer session at the Family Leadership Summit in Ames, Iowa today.
“He is not a war hero,” Trump told pollster Frank Luntz, who was moderating the session.
“He is a war hero,” Luntz interjected.
“He is a war hero because he was captured,” Trump said, interrupting. “I like people that weren’t captured, OK? I hate to tell you. He is a war hero because he was captured. OK, you can have — I believe perhaps he is a war hero.”
Trump himself managed to avoid the Vietnam War with a heroic medical deferment based on a bone spur in his foot.
But Trump wasn’t finished with McCain and brought up the Senator’s 2008 presidential campaign for which he claimed to have raised $1 million for him.
“He lost,” Trump said. “He let us down. I never liked him as much after that because I don’t like losers.”
