November 1, 2021 – Former Olympian and reality star, Caitlyn Jenner, is siding with Dave Chappelle amidst the controversy over the comedian’s Netflix special, The Closer. Jenner tweeted:
“Dave Chappelle is 100% right. This isn’t about the LGBTQ movement. It’s about woke cancel culture run amok, trying to silence free speech. We must never yield or bow to those who wish to stop us from speaking our minds.”
Jenner’s tweet drew mixed responses from the internet, with some applauding her stance while others pointed out her privileged position within the LGBTQ community.

The Chappelle controversy has continued to boil over with employee walkouts and protests at Netflix. In his most recent special, Chappelle stated that “gender is a fact” and described himself as being part of “team TERF,” an acronym for a “trans-exclusionary radical feminist” that’s often applied to “Harry Potter” author J.K. Rowling.
